It’s that time of year where eating local is getting easier and easier. Markets all around Virginia are eager to let consumers who are ready to sample the best produce, grass-fed meat, eggs, and agricultural bounty of Old Dominion. It’s Farmer’s Market Season!
A farmers’ market can provide a dose of educational value for your kiddos, with local farmers ready to explain about growing seasons, flower varieties, or “what’s that hardest thing to grow?”. Anyway, if your family is around the Tri-Cities take the time to visit the fabulous farmer’s markets.
Here are some local farmers markets:
Every Saturday from 2-5pm in downtown Hopewell. Sometimes with live music and food trucks.
Located under the MLK Bridge near the Union Train Stn. on River Street. This market runs from April to October on Saturdays from 7am-noon.
A small farmers market located under the pavilion near Scott Park. (6602 Courthouse Drive). This market runs from May to October on Saturdays from 8am-noon.
Located in Chester Village Green this market runs from April until September on Saturdays from 8:30-12:30 PM.
Woods Farmers Market – South Chesterfield
A farmers market located in a church . This market runs from June – October on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Farm Market with wide selection of Local Vegetables, Bedding Plants, Hanging Baskets, Jams and Jellies, and Bake Goods.

FURTHER NORTH :
Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 to 4pm. Located Downtown and home to other events like the Bacon Festival. This Market runs from April to October.
Rain or Shine and virtually year round. 9-12 in Winter (through April) 8am-noon (starts in May)
