The City of Colonial Heights will sponsor a fireworks display on Saturday, July 4, 2015 in the vicinity of Charles Dimmock Parkway in Colonial Heights.Fireworks will start at approximately 9:15 pm. Viewing for the fireworks will be off Interstate 95, Exit 53 or 54 in the Southgate Square/Wal-Mart Area. Bring blankets and/or lawn chairs. Rain Date: Sunday, July 5, 2015

FORT LEE

Celebrate your independence at Fort Lee’s Fourth at the Fort, our annual Independence Day celebration, on Saturday, July 4, at Williams Stadium. This event begins at 5 p.m. with music, food and the KidZone (inflatable rides and games for the kids). The high-energy band, “Redneck Pool Party” will entertain before the 392d Army Band takes the stage to perform a rousing set of patriotic standards. A spectacular fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:35 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 765-3176. Independence Day Celebration and Artillery Demonstration – Celebrate our nation’s independence with a cannon firing.  Join us for costumed interpretation, history tours, Civil War rifle demos, and a commemoration ceremony. Artillery demonstration begins at 1:00pm. Free to members or with Park admission.

RICHMOND

Dogwood Dell Fourth of July Celebration – Celebrate the fourth of July with music and fireworks at Dogwood Dell. Enjoy a free family musical celebration. Pack a picnic and bring your friends. The concert begins at 7:30pm, just after the Carillon concert.

Fireworks on The James– RVA Fireworks on the James is a FREE “Patriotic Family Fun” event that will feature the state’s largest fireworks show. Food Vendors will be on Brown’s Island and the public is invited to bring a picnic (alcohol and pets not permitted) and a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy music simulcast on WRIR-FM, 97.3.

Fourth of July at Lewis Ginter – Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and CarMax are pleased to announce CarMax’s Free Fourth of July at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. On July 4, visitors to the Garden will receive free admission the entire day (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) The free admission also includes entrance to the popular Butterflies LIVE! exhibit. There will be scheduled activities in the Children’s Garden from 1 – 4 p.m.

Genworth Independence Day Concert– Join Genworth on Friday, July 3, 2015, to celebrate freedom with the 29th Infantry Division Band, Virginia Infantry Division National Guard. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7:30 at Genworth Financial’s World Headquarters located at 6620 West Broad Street. The 10th annual fireworks display will follow the concert, beginning at about  9 p.m. Children and adults of all ages are welcome, but please, leave your pets at home. They will have face painting, balloons, giveaways, food vendors and more. Plenty of free parking and transportation between the parking lot and the event site for those who need assistance. This event is free and open to the public.
