Sweater season is upon us. The fall breeze is stirring and pumpkin spice has arrived. It’s an exciting season in Virginia and before you know it Halloween will be here. Be sure to experience, corn mazes, hay rides, theme parks, graveyards, ghostly battlefields  and haunted houses with the list below.

Forget pumpkin picking and pick apples instead. Apple Harvest at Carter Mountain Orchard is one of the orchard’s biggest celebrations of the year! From September through November, visitors can pick-your-own apples, pumpkins, take hayrides, sample wine ,apple butter, sample delicious apple cider, apple cider donuts, apple pie, and all things apple! The orchard is located a little over a hour and a half away from Fort Lee. It popular with Fort Lee families and Richmond families alike and offers a fantastic view of Charlottesville. It’s worth the drive and three words sum it up……. apple cider donuts!
